Catherine Nicodemo was born in Blackstone, Virginia. Her formal art eduction was undertaken at The School of Visual Arts in New York City, where she received a BFA. She has since pursued the dual careers of art and dance; it is perhaps this dual aesthetic that defines the special nature of her work.

Ms Nicodemo has worked extensively in advertising and design and won an honorable mention in the field of Graphic Communications from the Master Eagle Family of Companies.

Her clients have included Seventeen Magazine, Chrystler Corporation, David Garth Associates, Marymount College, Johnson & Higgins, The Lubrinco Group, CTI Records, and Glenfiddich Scotch.

Throughout her career, she has performed as a dancer in the Carribean and South America, as well as the United States.

Ms Nicodemo has had one woman shows at, The Europa Club, (Brooklyn, NY), Gallery 93 South (Nyack, NY),the David Howard Foundation and the Ward Lawrence Gallery in New York City, and the Flying Pig Gallery (New Jersey). Her work is permanently on exhibition at Parsons School of Design. *

Ms Nicodemo has exhibited collections of pastels and ink drawings in New York City at Lincoln Center’s Cork Gallery, Synchronicity Space, The Broome Street Gallery, Art 54, and Montserrat Galleries in SOHO, Lever House, The Windows of the Pan Am B­uilding, NOHO Gallery, Pen and Brush Gallery, Benjamin Cardozo School of Law the Venzuelan Consulate, the Republic National Bank, Emigrant Savings Bank, Schimmmel Center for the Arts at Pace University, Locust Valley Library and the Enchanted Basement. The Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts. IN New Jersey at the following; The Renee Foosner Art Gallery at the Papermill Playhouse,Watchung Art Center, Nathan’s Arts Galery. She is a featured artist with representation at the Flying Pig Gallery, in Sussex, New Jersey.

Open and Juried Exhibitions have included Audubon Artists 59th Annual Exhibition, The Catharine Lorrillard Wolfe Art Club 105th Annual Exhibition, Pen & Brush Regional Juried Art Exhibition, and Salmagundi Club, NYC. She is also a member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA), and The Burr Artists.
